I took the header photo of the buffalo in May of 2005 when I was driving across the country with my girlfriend at the time. We stayed overnight in Wall, South Dakota, before visiting Badlands National Park the next morning. We took a gravel road several miles into the plains within the park, searching for buffalo and prairie dogs. We found both. This herd of buffalo was grazing about 30 yards off the road. Several cars had stopped to take photos. I got out of the car and took this photo of the buffalo from the edge of road. Some idiots were out in the field, chasing after the buffalo. Stupid people.
